Great Legal Bake – London Legal Support Trust and the Access to Justice Foundation

The sweetest fundraiser of the year, the Great Legal Bake, returns from the 3 – 7 November 2025.

Calling all Star Bakers

Could you raise dough to support free frontline services that help some of society’s most vulnerable people? Are sweet treats up your street or does savoury make you rave-ery?

Whether it’s blondies or brownies, millefeuilles or petits fours, Black Forest gateau or Swiss roll, millionaire’s shortbread or pound cake, taking part is easy as pie. And if sweet stuff doesn’t melt your butter why not make samosas, sausage rolls, or savoury scones?

All you need to do is register through the button below and we’ll send you a bake pack full of useful stuff like posters, labels and stickers. So grab a group of friends or colleagues and organise a bake sale in your office, chambers, court or university and sell your tasty treats.

Are you a crummy baker, but you’d still like to take part? Why not see if a local bakery might donate some cupcakes?

 

If you are not able to take part during the official bake week, you are still welcome to sign up to bake on a date of your choice. Just let us know on the sign up form below!

When communities and lawyers unite, incredible things happen – The PILS Project

Our staff and board are excited to invite you to the Autumn Social 2025.

This evening of music, food and conversation will celebrate the solidarity that grows when human rights defenders and lawyers team up to defend the public interest.

While some political parties try to distract you with tired, negative narratives, we can choose a proactive path. Together, we can defend our human rights protections, maximising the promise of the Human Rights Act for another 25 years of collective action.

As well as a chance to meet the people at the frontline of legal changemaking in Northern Ireland, you’ll also enjoy:

  • Special guest speaker John Wadham (outgoing Human Rights Advisor to the Northern Ireland Policing Board)
  • Live music and photography exhibition
  • Food, drink and great company

Abigail Rolling: Sh*t Lawyer for APPEAL – Fundraising Comedy Gig

As you know, challenging a wrongful conviction is intense and demanding work. That’s why a night of comedy is such a welcome change!

 

We are so grateful to four star, Edinburgh Fringe sell out, Abigail Rolling aka Sh*t Lawyer for using laughter to support the work of APPEAL!

 

On 2nd November 2025, for one night only, ‘Sh*t Lawyer’ will put on a special political comedy and storytelling show, with funds raised going towards our charity work in challenging unsafe conviction.

Plymouth Law School – Justice Served quiz

We are a group of four students from the University of Plymouth who are organising and coordinating an event for pro-bono week which is both informative and entertaining.

 

We have decided to host an event where minds can be nurtured, and smiles can be formed, therefore, we would love to welcome you to our quiz night entitled:

 

‘Justice served’

 

We hope our ‘Justice Served’ quiz will unite communities for a deserving cause, whilst simultaneously spreading awareness around the lack of access to justice in the south-west. As you are probably aware, legal aid is limited in many sectors of the legal profession and it is our aim to extend and promote the benefit of pro-bono work.

Plymouth Law School – (pro) BONO BINGO

The pro-bono week volunteers at the University of Plymouth are hosting an event in which we would love for you to attend to help support our mission to provide access to justice for those in need, especially locally in the south-west.

 

On Monday the 4th  November 2024, we are kicking off pro-bono week with ‘Bono Bingo’. As a collective, we decided that a Bingo night would be the perfect way to combine laughter, fun and showing appreciation to those who work so tirelessly within this sector. Bingo nights are more than just numbers and prizes, they are an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals in our local community to unite for a beneficial and deserving cause.

Carols for Pro Bono 2023: Celebrate Christmas at Temple Church

What better way is there to get into the festive spirit than by joining Advocate and LawWorks for our annual Christmas Carol Concert.

Join the two access to justice charities on Thursday 14th December at 6:15pm in the heart of London’s legal quarter at the beautiful Temple Church for an enchanting evening of music, mince pies and special celebrity guest appearances.

All ticket proceeds go towards raising vital funds for the people in desperate need of legal assistance that Advocate and LawWorks exist to support.

Expect to be captivated by readings from a special line up of celebrity guests, including actors Alex Macqueen and Stephen Mangan, as well as music from talented cellist Waynne Kwon and Chamber Choir Collegium Musicum. We are also delighted to announce that the new Lady Chief Justice Sue Carr will be joining us as one of our readers.

Tickets start at £10, and exclusive tickets are also available for those who would like to join us for a sparkling wine and mince pie reception. Doors open at 5:30pm, with the concert beginning at 6:15pm.
