We are delighted that Lady Brenda Hale, the former Head of the Supreme Court and the first woman to hold this post, will be speaking to UEA Law students and members of the Norfolk & Norwich Law Society on 9 November.
Lady Hale is trailblazer in many respects, and she gained a particularly high profile in 2019 when she delivered the Supreme Court’s decision on the government’s prorogation of Parliament over Brexit. She has been called the “Beyoncé of the legal profession” and her various spider brooches became famous (you can even buy Lady Hale brooch T-shirts).
