Covid 19: Remote Access to Justice, challenges and solutions – Westminster & Holborn Law Society Pro Bono and CSR Sub-Committee

November 3, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

The Mary Ward Legal Centre and Support Through Court provide vital pro bono legal and support services to members of the community. Their work has become all the more critical during the pandemic as people attempt to access legal advice and the courts through remote means. The panellists will explore how they have adapted their services and the challenges they have faced. Further, Ashley Palmer will provide an insight into her work with a specific focus on techniques and practical tips she uses to work with clients who are facing remote hearings and remote mediation.

The panellists are:

  • Jovana Ugrinic, Service Manager of the London Family Courts at Support Through Court;
  • Gabriel Olufadeji & Patricia Ng, both Legal Service Advisors from the Mary Ward Legal Centre; and
  • Ashley Palmer, an accredited Family Mediator, Family Consultant, and Psychotherapist at A. Palmer & Associates.

The panel will be chaired by Shaila Pal, Chair of the Committee and Director of King’s Legal Clinic of Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London.
