For our 25th anniversary, we’re creating an exhibition to showcase the legal profession’s long-standing commitment to pro bono and access to justice. First appearing in London, it will go on to tour locations across the UK.
Submissions are invited via our online form or by email to Emily Sherratt on emily@probonoweek.org.uk by a deadline of 4 September 2026. For more information on what we are seeking, please see below.
(1) For the physical curated exhibition, please consider contributing a single photo/clipping with:
- A sentence or two that showcases/explains your pro bono organisation or project etc as part of the wider history of pro bono in this jurisdiction over the decades.
- Ideally including a single statistic showing the impact of your pro bono over time.
- Accompanied by a single graphic, whether a photo, digital cutting of historical document, online news story, piece of artwork.
- (For space reasons, we cannot guarantee this will be included in the curated exhibition)
(2) Alongside, we would invite you to provide a more detailed contribution that we would publish online alongside the curated exhibition:
- A 1 page / 400 word narrative explaining the history of your pro bono organisation or pro bono project, and how it has provided or supported the provision of pro bono over the years.
- Including links to e.g. additional photos, clippings, new stories etc.
- (We will seek to include your submission online even if we do not have space to include your above sentence/photo.)
- Video content is also welcomed, should you already have something. We hope to be able to find a way to use videos in digital comms.
(3) If relevant, historical materials to be collated for the archive, which help show the history of pro bono in the UK. For example:
- Documents, photos, news reports etc from the establishment of your pro bono organisation/project.
- Reports, photos, videos showing the impact of pro bono over time.
- (These will not be published at this stage but will be stored for future research and potentially future exhibitions.)
