DESCRIPTION:In November 2023\, the first Social Justice Law Fair was held at the University of Westminster. The event featured 31 exhibitors\, including chambers\, law firms\, charities\, NGOs\, and campaign groups committed to social justice\, and attracted over 100 attendees. The fair was a resounding success\, with students and graduates travelling from across the country to participate. \nThere are 5 founding principles of the Social Justice Law Fair.  \n\nAccessibility: The SJLF is free to attend as both an exhibitor and guest. DESCRIPTION:The Cayman Islands is taking part in Pro Bono Week with events and communications to showcase the new Cayman Islands Legal Assistance Clinic\, and to encourage law students and attorneys to volunteer. \n  \nThe Clinic represents a cooperative initiative between the Department of Legal Aid\, the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association and the Truman Bodden Law School under the direction of Chief Justice Anthony Smellie. The mandate of the clinic is to provide greater access to justice for eligible members of the community through the provision of free (pro bono) legal advice and assistance as a complement to the provision of legal services by the local bar and the formal legal aid system. DESCRIPTION:The Ukraine Advice Project was founded on 28 February 2022 to provide urgent\, free and professional legal advice and information about UK resettlement options to people displaced and at risk due to the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine.
